What is MIO
measurement solution?
A typical "MIO" measurement solution represents an
interface including hardware and software that has multi-function input
output (MIO) features such as computer controlled switch and monitoring of
some physical quantity that you want to observe. The computerization of
equipment is achieved by use of multi-function I/O devices from reputed data
acquisition hardware manufacturers. A multi-function I/O device could be a
data acquisition card installed in PCI or ISA slot, an USB or serial
communication based device, which is outside your computer. Thus, MIO
instrument is a tool that adds intelligence to your equipment.
“MIO instrumentation solution” does not include test
equipment owned by client, or the data acquired by testing materials on such
equipment.

What makes
MIO instruments different from our current options?
Laboratory investigations of exploratory nature are
difficult to reduce to simple forms where routine techniques can be applied.
Cost estimates for such tasks are also difficult due to lack of data
generally found with large-scale production methods. Consequently, such
investigations tend to fall below desired efficiency when executed. With
tools and solutions from MIO Instruments, you start making right
measurements the first time and every time after saving you several hours
and the lost effort.
Most importantly, we give you a system that will allow you
to obtain data consistent with the scientific concept associated with such
measurement. For example, In determination of absorbency of a blotting paper
it is important for your system to know the definition of a dry blotting
paper and for how long to consider it dry under such definition. Such
seemingly simple concepts could give significantly different evaluation of
your test materials. Besides avoiding expensive errors right at the start,
we offer optional support for customers who buy our complete data
acquisition system.

What are
different solution options?
Partial solution (Integration)
For pure integration service, you must have data
acquisition hardware and software. MIO Instruments will help you integrate
the DAQ hardware with your test equipment and computer. Once you can detect
signal, you may want to develop your own validation and analysis methods
using your in house tools and methods. Often times the DAQ hardware
manufacturer’s driver is more than adequate to detect signal and verify that
installation is successful.
Complete solution (Development)
In case of complete solution, you know what you want to
measure and may be when to measure it. You may also have some mathematical
relationships between various measured physical quantities or determination
of a hypothesized relationship itself may be one of your goals. However,
there is no off the shelf tool to buy and carry out lab work. This is a
common case of exploratory lab investigation. Your requirement is to get the
turn key data acquisition solution including software and DAQ hardware that
will read the data from your equipment the way you want and present it in
tabular or graphical form. This is where we can offer you the state of the
art solution to accomplish your goals.

Will you do
modifications as and when we learn more about our own experiments?
Yes, modifications beyond specifications can be done if at
the time of modification the available alternatives justify it. MIO
Instruments will make every effort to help you with your measurement
requirements. Whenever possible, talk to our application engineers before
writing specification for your system. They might be able to point something
that will assist in keeping your system current with innovations introduced
by third party software, data acquisition hardware or other related
technologies. Does it matter to upgrade? Certainly it does.

What are your charges for a typical custom measurement job?
The cost of project solution depends largely on the project
requirements. If a routine solution seems appropriate where only integration
of standard data acquisition hardware and software is required then the cost
of the project is significantly less.
When the project needs are not so straightforward and
special requirements exist for acquiring signals, their analysis and
presentation. Under such circumstances, detail specifications can only help
estimate the cost. Our ready to use products is our live proof of the

What customer support options do you offer?
When you order complete solution, you get a turnkey system
that is fully installed and configured for your use. We also train the user
of the measurement solution on making reliable measurements.
As with most software, irrespective of the vendor, system bugs are
known only after, the system is in use for some time. If you notify us about
such incidence, we will fix all such bugs due to us by promptly sending you
patches on disks.
For initial 60 days, there is free support on phone when
you call our support engineer.
Any time the data acquisition hardware or software from third party fails
during warranty period, we will replace it at no labor cost to you. Please see our terms and conditions for details on
